Harry Magnes, MD, MMM is the President & CEO of ABQ Health Partners, a position he has held since the medical group became independent in November 2007. Dr. Magnes was CEO of the predecessor Lovelace Medical Group beginning in 2005.
Dr. Magnes’s strengths include strategic planning, negotiation, change management, and incentive and compensation programs.
Dr. Magnes received his BA degree from Brown University, his MD from Yale University, and his Master of Medical Management degree from Tulane University. He is a board-certified Internist, completing his residency at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Magnes practiced with a multispecialty medical group in southern California for 16 years until he moved into medical management.
Aside from 4 years as Chief Medical Officer at an 800-doctor IPA in Pasadena, California, Dr. Magnes has spent his entire clinical and management career in multispecialty medical groups where he has served as practicing Internist, Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer, President, and Chief Executive Officer.
Dr. Magnes’s honors include election to Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Xi (honorary science fraternity), and the Delta Omega Society (public health honor society). He was selected as one of the Best-Performing CEOs in New Mexico in 2009. In addition, he has had biographical listings in many editions of Who’s Who, including the current editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Industry, and Who’s Who in the World.
Dr. Magnes currently serves on the Board of Directors for Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, Wells Fargo Bank Community Board and is an active member of Albuquerque’s Economic Forum.

Stuart Schroeder, CPA, MPA joined ABQ Health Partners as Chief Financial Officer in June 2009 bringing more than 15 years of healthcare finance and operations experience to the organization. As CFO, he has oversight of Finance, Decision Support Services, Materials Management, Revenue Cycle Operations, and Coding. Mr. Schroeder began his career with Healthcare Corporation of America (HCA), and has held a variety of roles throughout his career including CFO, Compliance Officer, Administrator, and Consultant specializing in healthcare Finance and Revenue Cycle Operations. Mr. Schroeder holds a Master of Professional Accountancy and a B.S. in Finance from Wichita State University.

Walter Davis, MBA was named Chief Operating Officer of ABQ Health Partners in 2010. Mr. Davis brings to ABQ Health Partners more than 20 years of progressive physician practice and healthcare management experience. He began his career as a Healthcare Center Administrator for CIGNA Health Plan of California in 1988. In 1994, Mr. Davis was promoted to Vice President of Operations for CIGNA Healthcare of California where he served for the next few years. Since 1996, he has held executive level positions within several different large physician organizations and most recently comes to us from Carondelet Health Network in Tucson, Arizona where he served as Chief Executive Officer for the Carondelet Medical Group. Mr. Davis holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management from the University of La Verne in La Verne, California, and a Master of Business Administration from University of Redlands in Redlands, California. Mr. Davis currently serves on the American Lung Association Board.

Darwin Harrison is Chief Strategy Officer primarily responsible for Corporate Strategy, Strategic Partnership Development and relationships. Darwin joined ABQ HP in 2006 bringing more than 20 years of experience in business development with a strong management, negotiating and technical background which includes strategic planning, information systems development, extensive cost and financial accounting, finance, treasury functions, corporate financial planning and analysis, corporate and partnership tax planning, compliance, and operations and organizational development experience. Darwin began his career with Price Waterhouse after owning a retail business, and has held a variety of roles throughout his career including President & CEO, CFO, CIO, VP Business Development, and Consultant specializing in startups, turnarounds, and growth companies in healthcare and other industries. Harrison holds a Master of Accountancy (Tax Emphasis) and a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University and currently serves on various non-profit boards.

Robert Mayer is Chief Information Officer, joined ABQ Health Partners in October, 2011. Mr. Mayer brings over 20 years of experience in information technology management with a strong background in strategic planning, organizational development and business innovation. His experience includes advising large healthcare networks and governmental agencies as well as closely held private businesses in the areas of technology management, strategic planning, and business practice. Mr. Mayer has served on a variety of national advisory and policy groups as well as on the editorial board for Health Management Technology magazine. He has held a variety of positions in his career including Chief Information Officer for the State of Maine, Chief Information Officer for Bowdoin College, Chief Information Officer for the New Mexico Department of Health and Special Expert in Health Information Technology for the US Department of Health and Human Services. Mr. Mayer has a BA in English from Colby College.

Jill Klar is Chief Business Officer, including oversight of Contracting, Credentialing, PR and Marketing. She joined ABQ Health Partners in May 2009 bringing more than 20 years of Health Plan operations experience with her. She specializes in many areas including, business development and expansion, strategic planning and implementation, process improvement, contract negotiation, and organizational leadership. Klar began her career with Presbyterian Heath Plan (formerly Health Plus of NM) and most recently worked for Lovelace Health Systems where she took on a variety of roles including Director of Provider and Market Development, Interim Chief Operating Officer, and Assistant Vice President of Provider Network Operations. Klar holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of New Mexico and currently serves on the Lobo Club Board of Directors.
